Message From Principal, Early Childhood,Campus-1

Welcome to the Australian International School of Bangladesh year 2010-2011!  We are excited about implementing the new National Australian Curriculum completed last year.  Our vision is to provide an international quality educational program for students from ages 3 to 8 on Campus 1.   We have international teachers and local teachers creating a warm and supportive learning environment that challenges all learners to achieve high standards.

I am Melissa Newman, the principal for Campus 1.  I bring to this position a wealth of western educational experience including teaching, teacher training, administration and college teaching in the United States.  I received my Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota in Educational Psychology and Administration.  I have lived and worked in Florida, Minnesota, Arizona and California.   Most recently I have worked at international schools in Myanmar, Kosovo, Kazakhstan, and Turkey. 

I look forward to learning more about Bangladesh and Australia as well as the many other cultures represented by our students and their families.  We have planned an exciting year!
