The Australian International School, or AusIS is a secular English medium school for early childhood students (age 3) to year eleven, 16 years. The school is growing each year to accommodate the student population as they progress through the grade levels, and will expand to year twelve in 2011.  The school offers the Western Australian curriculum and is supervised by the government of Western Australian. Year twelve graduates will receive a Certificate of Education from Western Australia after successfully completing their external examinations. Graduates receiving this certificate are accepted into universities all over the world. The academic year runs from August through June with admission open throughout the school year.

The school operates in three modern sites within the diplomatic section of Dhaka known as Gulshan. Each classroom is air-conditioned and has a maximum enrollment of 20 students per class. Each teacher also has a full time assistant to ensure students receive close attention and support. Every class is assigned an expatriate coordinating teacher who supports classroom teachers, following their own teacher training from international universities.
